Final test flights carried out for Rize-Artvin Airport

Final test flights are being carried out for Rize-Artvin Airport, which will be Turkey’s second airport on the sea embankment. While infrastructure construction, runway and taxiways manufacturing has been completed, at Rize-Artvin Airport the lane field corrections also have been completed to a large extent and the lines of the runway and aprons were also drawn. In addition to that, the test flights were continuing days before the opening of the airport, a calibration flight was carried out for the commissioning of the airport navigation devices with the flight control plane belonging to Turkish General Directorate of State Airports Authority (DHMI). It has been learned that test flights will continue until Friday.

On the other hand, the airport will be put into service on May 14 with a ceremony attended by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and former Azerbaijani President Heydar Aliyev.
