A forest fire broke out in the Pifes Grias Vathras Prinos region of Samothrace Island in Greece. The fire, which grew rapidly with the effect of the strong wind, was intervened with 2 fire extinguishing helicopters and 2 extinguishing planes from the air, and 8 firefighters and 4 fire trucks from the land, the national fire department said.
Forest fires also continue in the settlements of Voula, Vari, Evelpion, Varkiza and Duzla on the island.
