A forest fire in the eastern region of Valencia, Spain has resulted in the evacuation of over a thousand people. The fire began at noon near the town of Villanueva de Viver and quickly grew out of control, threatening nearby towns and villages. Currently, approximately 900 hectares of land have been affected. The Valencia fire department has reported that 8 villages and towns in the area have been evacuated, with a shelter accommodating 600 people and a field hospital established. Despite intervention from 15 aircraft, 74 firefighters, and 19 fire trucks, the fire remains uncontained due to the dry air and strong winds in the region. Further evacuations may be necessary.
