The former president of Honduras Juan Orlando Hernandez was captured at his home in Tegucigalpa, the Honduran capital, after the US requested his arrest and extradition on drug charges. Followers of Hernandez gathered at the Supreme Court of Justice, where he will appear for trial.
On the other hand, members of the Freedom and Refoundation Party (LIBRE), of current President Xiomara Castro and her husband Manuel Zelaya, gathered around the Supreme Court of Justice and shouted slogans against the former president Hernandez. The police guarded the surroundings of the court building to prevent the entry of protesters.
