Dmitry Medvedev, former Russian Prime Minister and Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia, met with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing. Announcing his visit to China on his social media account, Medvedev said that they discussed the “limitless” strategic partnership between Russia and China with Xi, and said, “We discussed the cooperation between the two ruling parties of China and Russia. Our strategic partnership includes bilateral cooperation in the economy and industrial production. We also discussed international issues, including the conflict in Ukraine,” he said.
Egyptian media reports that ceasefire talks between Hamas and Israel in Gaza, mediated by Qatar and Egypt, are set to resume next week. Israel is awaiting Hamas’s response to the ceasefire offer.
Israeli and US delegations, who were in Doha for negotiations, have returned home for consultations. The current agreement being discussed includes the exchange of hostages and prisoners, with plans for further talks on a permanent ceasefire and the release of additional hostages.
