Wildfire sparked by Europe’s heat wave continue burning. The ongoing forest fires in the Gironde region of southwest France have yet to be extinguished. So far, the fire near Dune du Pilat, located in La Teste-de-Buch in the Arcachon Bay region, has destroyed 6,500 hectares and 12,800 hectares in the town of Landiras. While 34,000 people have been evacuated, 9 planes and 1,700 firefighters are still fighting the fire.
