French citizens once again demonstrated against pension reform

Protests erupted once again in France over the pension reform, which aimed for a gradual increase in the retirement age from 62 to 64. Protesters assembled in Invalides Square near the French National Assembly and marched to Italy Square on the call of unions and non-governmental organizations. They chanted slogans such as “Get out Macron”, “We will continue to strike until the reform is withdrawn”, “We will win together”, “We want the retirement age to be 60” and “We will not bow to the dictates of the government”.

Additionally, the pension reform was put to a vote in the French Senate and was adopted by a vote of 195 to 112 last Saturday, March 11. The final draft will be submitted to both the Senate and the National Assembly for a final vote today.
