Garbage protest from cleaning workers in Mexico

To protest the situation, cleaning workers in Oaxaca de Juarez, the capital of the Mexican state of Oaxaca, threw tons of garbage in the city square and important streets in the city center.
Mayor Francisco Martinez Neri of Oaxaca de Juarez stated that the city is in a critical situation due to a lack of urban solid waste areas and asked citizens to be a part of the solution.

Oaxaca Governor Alejandro Murat recently announced the opening of a new garbage collection area in the city.

UN Declares Famine in Gaza

The UN Integrated Food Security Stage Classification (IPC) officially declared a famine in Gaza City and surrounding areas, warning that over 500,000 people face “catastrophic” conditions. Another 1.7 million are in emergency levels, with nearly all agriculture destroyed and food access critically restricted since March.

UN officials said the famine is “entirely man-made” and blamed Israel’s obstruction of aid deliveries. Human rights chief Volker Türk warned that deaths from starvation may constitute war crimes. Israel rejected the report, calling it based on “Hamas’s lies.”
