German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul visited Kyiv for the first time in his new role, stating, “The freedom and future of Ukraine are the most important task of our foreign and security policy.”
Accompanied by German arms industry representatives, Wadephul condemned Russia’s attacks and reaffirmed Germany’s support with air defense systems, humanitarian aid, and economic assistance.
“Putin wants surrender, not negotiations,” he said, accusing the Russian leader of blocking peace efforts. Wadephul is scheduled to meet Ukrainian President Zelensky and Foreign Minister Sybiha during his visit.
