Global warming proving its affects all over the world hit Turkey’s tallest mountain. The snow on Mount Ararat’s summit, that is 5.137 meters above sea level, is gradually melting because of the increasing temperatures.

“Especially the southern side of the mountain lost a significant amount of snow. Thanks to the slope exposure and topographical characteristics of the mountain, the snow on the northern side is much denser. However, the melting problem overall is significant.” stated Adem Yulu, an Assistant Professor of Geography Department.
