Heavy rain and storm kills 2 in California

Two people lost their lives and nearly ten thousand people were evacuated from their homes in California, USA, due to heavy rain and storm caused by an atmospheric river. According to PowerOutage.us, more than 25,000 people were left without electricity. Due to the flood caused by the rain, the roads were damaged and the rivers overflowed.

Meanwhile, the National Meteorological Service stated that the floods could affect a total of 25 million people’s lives. California Governor Gavin Newsom requested federal aid, and US President Joe Biden approved the request to cover 34 districts in the state, paving the way for federal financial aid to the state.
