Historical Turkish City Diyarbakir Falls Silent Due to Extreme Heat

The highest temperature record was broken in Diyarbakir, the Turkish province that was inhabited by numerous civilizations throughout history. Thermometers showed 48 degrees during the day. The streets of the historical Sur district, which is immensely crowded in general, were left empty due to the scorching heat. Historical places in the district, such as the Ten-Arches Bridge, the Great Mosque and the Four-Legged Minaret, which are especially frequented by tourists, fell silent.
