Hong Kong police raided the office of the pro-democracy newspaper Apple Daily owned by media tycoon Jimmy Lai and arrested 5 executives. The operation was launched on the grounds that the newspaper violated national security law. It was emphasized that since 2019, the newspaper has published more than 30 articles urging other countries to impose sanctions on Hong Kong and China. The police carried out a search for the computers and documents of the employees and confiscated some computers.
