A fire broke out in the restaurant section of the Cristal Hotel in Erbil, the Iraqi Kurdish Regional Government.
Sarkawt Karash, spokesperson for Erbil’s civil defence department, stated that there was no loss of life in the fire. Karash also stated that the fire started as the meal was being prepared and the flames spread to other parts of the restaurant.
The flames were brought under control with 12 fire trucks.
Hotel Manager Muhammed Simeydi said that the restaurant will be reopened after the electrical checks.
