Hurricane Eunice: 2 killed in Poland

“Hurricane Eunice” struck Poland as well as the rest of Western Europe. A driver died at the scene after a tree fell on a vehicle on the road in the town of Babi Dwor in the country’s northwest. Another driver was killed after a tree fell on his car near Miedzyrzec Podlaski in eastern Poland. Hundreds of buildings’ roofs were blown off as a result of the hurricane, and thousands of trees were toppled.

Due to the damage caused by the hurricane, power lines could not be supplied to nearly 194,000 households across the country as of 09:00 local time, an official announced. A pickup truck narrowly avoided falling down the viaduct near the town of Jordanow Slaski in the southwestern part of the country. The strong wind first shook the truck in motion and then knocked it over the viaduct barriers, as captured by the camera in the vehicle approaching from behind.
