Hurricane kay hits Mexico coast: 2,595 evacuated

Hurricane Kay reached Bahia Asuncion in Baja California Sur, Mexico. Exposing the country to downpours since last Monday, the hurricane caused 2,595 citizens to be evacuated. The country is facing heavy rainfalls, fierce wind reaching 150 km/h and 6 meters tall waves. Authorities have suspended all educational activities in Baja California Sur.

The hurricane caused flooding in Sonora state.

Authorities had stated that heavy rains and storm will also hit Baja California, Baja California Sur, Sinaloa, Sonora, Durango and Chihuahua states in the upcoming days and citizens should take precautions necessary. However, it’s also stated that Hurricane Kay will weaken after a couple of days.
