Restoration continues uninterruptedly at the 16th-era mosque of Selimiye in Edirne, Turkey, the masterwork of Ottoman architect Sinan. Restoration is expected to take approximately 40 months. The hand-drawn decoration paintings of the mosque are restored in accordance with their original form.
The mosque will present itself to visitors for at least another 100 years after its restoration is complete.
