In Iran’s Isfahan province, an explosion occurred early morning followed by a series of drone attacks targeting Isfahan Airport and the Shikari 8th Main Jet Air Base. Iranian state television reported the activation of air defense systems, successfully thwarting the attack. Commander Siyavesh Mihendust clarified that the explosion resulted from air defense measures against unidentified drones, causing no harm. Iranian Space Organization’s spokesperson, Hussein Dalirian, suggested the drones used were short-range and potentially launched domestically.
German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul said Germany sees a negotiated two-state solution as the only path forward and emphasized, “For Germany, recognition of the State of Palestine is still at the very end of the process. However, such a process must begin immediately.” Ahead of his visit to Israel and Palestine, Wadephul urged Israel to ensure the safe distribution of humanitarian aid in Gaza and warned against unilateral annexation steps in the West Bank.
