At least 10 people, including women and children, were killed when Israeli forces struck tents sheltering displaced civilians in the Al-Mawasi area of Gaza, near Khan Younis. The targeted site had previously been declared a “safe zone” by Israel. The attack set the tents ablaze and left many injured. Footage from the aftermath showed scenes of chaos and panic.
Israel has not commented on the incident. According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, over 51,000 people have died and more than 116,000 have been injured in Gaza since October 7, 2023.
