The Israeli Air Force said a strike in the Gaza Strip killed Muhammad Abu Shaleh, described as a senior Hamas intelligence commander. The Israeli military said he was targeted in a precision operation.
According to the statement, Abu Shaleh was involved in planning attacks and efforts to rebuild Hamas’s capabilities. Israel said operations in Gaza will continue to eliminate what it described as ongoing threats.
