Following his visit to Kyiv and meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy yesterday, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida was hosted in Poland’s capital, Warsaw, by his Polish counterpart, Mateusz Morawiecki.
Morawiecki said at a joint news conference with Kishida that, at a time when a “new geopolitical order” was emerging, both countries understood the “threat to world peace posed by Russia’s imperialism.” Morawiecki also expressed concern over Chinese President Xi Jinping’s recent visit to Moscow.
Kishida remarked that he would offer assistance to Poland in order to support Japan’s role, considering the increased burden on Poland as a result of the extended occupation of Ukraine, and that he wished to actively build projects. Fumio Kishida also stated that Japan would strengthen ties with the Visegrad Group, the Three Seas Initiative, and the Bucharest Nine.
