A surface of Lake Çıldır, located in the province of Kars in Türkiye, has frozen about 40 centimeters. The villagers fished Eskimo style, breaking the ice with pickaxes and shovels. The nets thrown by the villagers beforehand are pulled out after a certain period of time. The fish are sold to nearby restaurants after being captured in nets.
