Latin America’s largest glass bridge opens in mexico

Puebla, Mexico, now has the largest glass bridge in Latin America. The bridge was named “Popocatepetl Sky Bridge” after the volcano located near the city. The Popocatepetl Sky Bridge, which connects two hotels in Puebla’s Atlixcayotl conservation area, is 148 meters long, 61.1 meters high from the ground, and 1.2 meters wide. According to Martin Puente Wong, manager of Grupo Hernandez, which financed the project, the bridge, which will greatly contribute to the touristic development of the Atlixcayotl conservation area, cost 300,000,000 pesos ($14, 360,000). The steel used in the construction of the bridge was brought from Canada, and the floor was completely covered with glass. The bridge, which weighs 15 tons, can support up to 245 tons of weight.
