Continuing his landmark trip following the fall of the Assad regime, French President Emmanuel Macron met with Syrian President Ahmed al-Shara today in Damascus. The two leaders held a one-on-one meeting at the People’s Palace before chairing a comprehensive roundtable discussion with their respective delegations. During the highly anticipated diplomatic visit, Macron and al-Shara officially signed multiple strategic partnership agreements to support the war-torn country’s recovery.
