Macron: No Troop Consensus, But Urgent Action Needed for Ukraine

French President Emmanuel Macron, addressing the support conference for Ukraine in Paris, highlighted the lack of Western consensus on deploying troops but emphasized the urgency of the situation. Macron asserted that defeating Russia is crucial for Europe’s security, emphasizing the need to prevent Russia from winning the war. European leaders at the conference agreed to form a coalition to supply medium and long-range missiles and bombs to Ukraine. Macron acknowledged the evolving threat, noting Russia’s expansionist strategy, posing a greater danger not only to Ukraine but also to other countries. While there is no consensus on troop deployment, Macron stressed the importance of not ignoring any measure to prevent Russia’s victory.
