French President Emmanuel Macron addressed the British Parliament, urging a Gaza ceasefire based on a two-state solution and calling for deeper UK-France cooperation in global security, defense, and diplomacy.

Speaking in English, Macron praised shared wartime history and alliance with Ukraine, emphasizing a joint commitment to peace in the Middle East. He urged the release of hostages in Gaza and proposed trilateral talks with the UK and Germany on Iran’s nuclear program.

Macron underlined that France and the UK, as Europe’s only nuclear powers, must lead the continent’s security amid new global threats. He also stressed the need to reduce dependence on both the US and China.

Despite Brexit, Macron called for closer ties, saying, “Let’s not allow the Channel to widen even further. We must move forward side by side.”
