Man dies after German police forcibly arrest him

A man died while attempting to be forcibly arrested by police in Mannheim, Germany. Yesterday afternoon, two police officers wanted to check on a man near Mannheim’s market square. The police wanted to arrest the 47-year-old man by force when he resisted arrest. After losing consciousness during the arrest, he was taken to the hospital. The man was unable to be saved despite the interventions after he was taken to the hospital.

After the incident, a group of 150 people protested against the police with anti-racist banners in their hands. The State Criminal Police Department (LKA) made a statement to prevent racist accusations by posting, “The deceased is not a Turkish national.”
