After the Friday prayers, worshipers of various mosques in Dhaka, Bangladesh including the National Mosque Baitul Mukarram, staged a protest demanding the arrest and punishment of Nupur Sharma and Nabin Jindal due to the insult to Hazrat Prophet Muhammad. At the end of the rally, a procession passed through Baitul Mukarram at Paltan Junction and ended at Nightingale Junction in the capital.
The protesters have announced to submit a memorandum to the Indian High Commission on June 16 regarding the mass procession. At the same time, in the current session of the National Assembly of Bangladesh, it has demanded to bring a motion of condemnation in protest of the harsh words against the Holy Prophet Muhammad. Protests continue in all the universities and colleges of the country.
