An eruption occurred at Mauna Loa Volcano in Hawaii, USA. The US Geological Survey (USGS) reported that the lava flow is now at its peak and there is no threat to the local population yet. Several earthquakes, the largest of which was 4.2, were recorded in the last 2 hours after the explosion.
The volcano alert was raised to warning level, and an aerial survey would be conducted to examine the details of the eruption, the Hawaii Volcano Observatory said.
