Melting snow caused floods in the northern, western, and eastern parts of Kazakhstan. Rivers overflowing in the cities of Aktobe and Kostanay, the most affected areas, flooded settlements, paralyzing life and displacing many people. Thousands of residents were evacuated by military helicopters and fast boats.
