Mexico Power Grid Strained by Heat Wave

A heat wave in Mexico has led to widespread power outages affecting 21 states, prompting an emergency declaration by the National Energy Control Center (CENACE). The high electricity demand strained the national grid, causing up to five-hour outages and impacting water supply and alarm systems. Critical water storage levels were also reported, raising concerns about the situation’s severity.
