Police rescued a boy and his mother trapped in a frozen pond in the state of Illinois, USA on Wednesday.
The 9-year-old boy dropped his ball into the frozen pond and fell into the water while trying to get it back. Realizing the incident, his mother dived into the water to save him, but the two could not manage to get out on their own.
A team from the Aurora Illinois Police Department arrived at the scene and entered the pond to save the mother and son. After long efforts of the police, the mother and son were pulled ashore with the help of a rope. The slightly injured kid and 2 police officers were transferred to the hospital.
Thinking that she would lose her son, the mother thanked those who participated in the rescue operation and everyone who informed the police.
