Foreign Ministers of NATO countries have come together at the meeting held in Riga, the capital of Latvia, to discuss a wide range of different issues. After the meeting, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg addressed the Russian growing presence in Ukraine. “We see Russian military build-up, we see heavy armor, we see drones, and combat ready troops. And we call on Russia to be transparent because this is unprovoked and unexplained. So therefore, Russia needs to be transparent, and they need to reduce tensions, and de-escalate.Russia will face costs and consequences if the aggression goes further ” Stoltenberg said. The Foreign Ministers Meeting will continue taking place in Riga tomorrow.
Egyptian media reports that ceasefire talks between Hamas and Israel in Gaza, mediated by Qatar and Egypt, are set to resume next week. Israel is awaiting Hamas’s response to the ceasefire offer.
Israeli and US delegations, who were in Doha for negotiations, have returned home for consultations. The current agreement being discussed includes the exchange of hostages and prisoners, with plans for further talks on a permanent ceasefire and the release of additional hostages.
