Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made a press statement after the weekly cabinet meeting. Referring to the negotiations regarding a temporary ceasefire and the release of the hostages, Netanyahu said that there will be no ceasefire until Hamas hands over Israeli hostages. Adding that Israel “will not surrender” to Hamas’ extreme demands despite increasing international pressure, Netanyahu stated that it is not Israel but Hamas who is blocking the agreement.
An Israeli government official said that Israel will send a delegation to the negotiations in Cairo, the capital of Egypt.
