The winners of the 2023 Nobel Prizes in the fields of physics, chemistry, medicine, literature, and economics were awarded at the ceremony held at the Stockholm Concert Hall in Stockholm, the capital of Sweden yesterday.

The Nobel Prize in Physics was awarded to Prof. Pierre Agostini, Prof. Dr. Ferenc Krausz and Prof. Anne L’Huillier for their experimental methods that produce attosecond light pulses for the study of electron dynamics in matter. The Nobel Prize in Chemistry was awarded to Moungi Bawendi, Louis Brus and Aleksey Yekimov for their work discovering quantum dots and how to make them. The Nobel Prize in Medicine was awarded to Katalin Kariko and Drew Weissman for their discoveries of nucleoside base modifications that enabled the development of effective mRNA vaccines against COVID-19. The Nobel Prize in Literature was awarded to Norwegian writer Jon Fosse for his innovative plays and prose that say the unsayable. Lastly, the Nobel Prize in Economics was awarded to Claudia Goldin for her work on the place of women in the labor market.
