Normalization agreement with Kosovo protested in Serbia

Dissidents took to the streets in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, before President Aleksandar Vucic’s summit with Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti and EU leaders in North Macedonia today to discuss the agreement known as the “French-German Plan.”

Organized by the extreme right-wing parties in the parliament last night, the protest started in the square in front of St. Sava Church. Thousands of demonstrators marched to the presidency, demanding the rejection of the Franco-German Plan, the immediate resignation of President Vucic, and the holding of early elections.

According to the Franco-German Plan, supported by the USA and the EU, Kosovo is expected to allow the establishment of the Union of Serbian Municipalities in municipalities where the majority of Serbs live, and Serbia is expected to respect Kosovo’s territorial integrity and allow it to become a member of international organizations.
