Northern Cyprus celebrates 39th foundation anniversary

The 39th anniversary of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) is celebrated with various ceremonies and events throughout the country. At the ceremony held within the framework of the celebrations in the cpaital Lefkoşa, TRNC President Ersin Tatar and Turkish Parliament Speaker Mustafa Şentop laid wreaths at the Atatürk Monument. Following the laying of the wreaths, a moment of silence was held and the flags were raised to the accompaniment of the National Anthem.
