Storm Poly wreaked havoc in the Netherlands, particularly in Amsterdam and the North Holland region, causing significant damage to homes and vehicles. A 51-year-old woman lost her life when a tree fell on her vehicle during the storm. Many others were injured by falling trees.
The Dutch National Meteorological Institute issued a red-coded alert, urging residents to stay indoors and contact emergency services only for critical situations. Furthermore, more than 400 flights were suspended at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.
