Civil defense sources in Gaza reported that 73 Palestinians have lost their lives since Israel and Hamas reached an agreement on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip that was expected to come into effect on January 19. There were 20 children among the dead and 230 more were injured, added the authorities.
The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office announced that the cabinet meeting expected to be held today to approve the ceasefire agreement had been postponed, claiming that Hamas had abandoned some of the provisions of the ceasefire agreement. Hamas, on the other hand, announced that they were committed to the agreement.
