The Merdovine River in the town of Bardonecchia overflowed due to heavy rains in the Piedmont region of Italy. The flood covered streets in mud, and damaged bridges, causing great panic among locals. A total of 120 people were displaced and placed in camps and hotels. Five people were reported missing but were found afterwards. Natural gas resources were temporarily cut off due to the risk of explosions.
