Thousands of students in Pakistan staged a rally in Karachi to express their support for Palestine in light of Israel’s ongoing attacks on the Gaza Strip since October 7. The students carried Palestinian flags and banners and were joined by parents and teachers in the march, which was organized by the Jamaat-i Islami Party. The party’s chairman, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, condemned Israel as a “terrorist state” and accused the USA and some European countries of complicity in “Israel’s war crimes,” while also criticizing U.S. actions in various Muslim-majority countries in the Middle East.
