Palestinians who have been struggling to survive under bombardment for 15 months in the Gaza Strip celebrated the ceasefire and prisoner agreement that came into effect as of 11.15 local time with great joy.
“This is great joy and I have been waiting for this for a long time. I hope to return to my home in Gaza to see my friends, my family and my home and check on them. The people here are happy because we have been suffering from the war for a year and two months. Thank God, the war is over,” Rasha Alwan said.
“I am very happy because I will return to the northern Gaza Strip. We have won this war. I pray to God to have mercy on the martyrs, to heal the wounded and to salute all the resistance fighters who contributed to this victory. Thank God we will return to Gaza, we will return to our schools and we will rebuild this city, said Rida Musleh.
