The outer wall of a multi-story residential building under construction in South Korea’s southwestern city Gwangju collapsed, leaving one worker injured and six others missing, local sources stated. Two people, trapped in a roadside container, were rescued. One person was slightly injured after being struck by rubble. Three others evacuated on their own, and some 10 vehicles were buried under the rubble. Six construction workers are still missing. For fear of further collapse, police and rescue workers halted research operations. After conducting a safety check, authorities are expected to decide whether or not to resume rescue operations.
