passengers evacuated after stranding for hours inside Eurotunnel

A passenger train from Calais, France, to Folkestone, England, malfunctioned in the Eurotunnel. Hundreds of passengers, stranded in the sub-sea tunnel for hours, were evacuated through emergency service tunnel. Passengers were taken to the Folkestone terminal by getting on another train after walking hours. After the incident, the railway operator Eurotunnel Le Shuttle apologized to the passengers for the malfunction.

The Eurotunnel, which is the third longest railway tunnel in the world, also has the longest underwater passage in the world with 37.9 kilometers.
