Pets implanted microcihps in Turkey

The Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and the Turkish Veterinary Medical Association signed a protocol that made it mandatory to implant microchips into owned cats, dogs, and ferrets in Turkey. The goal of the application is to conduct pet vaccination checks and locate animals left on the street.

Mentioning the importance of implanting microchips cats and dogs, Veterinarian Aydan Özer İnal said, “Unfortunately, cats and dogs that are kept at home have recently started to be left on the street, both for its control and for the monitoring of vaccines and internal and external parasites, the state has made it mandatory to implant microchips. The microchip is not harmful to animals,” she said.
