According to the news that the South Korean press based on an Air Force official in South Korea, the preliminary investigations after 2 KF-16 fighter jets belonging to the South Korean Air Force mistakenly targeted the city of Pocheon in Gyeonggi province during a drill revealed that the pilot of one of the planes in question entered the coordinates of the attack target incorrectly before takeoff.

“We are sorry for the damage caused by the accident and wish the injured a speedy recovery. We will actively take all necessary measures, including compensation for the damage,” said the South Korean Air Force.

The 8 MK-82-type bombs dropped in a rural residential area of Pocheon injured at least 15 people and damaged 8 buildings.

Russia has handed over the bodies of 1,000 Ukrainian soldiers in exchange for 19 Russian soldiers as part of an agreement reached during peace talks in Istanbul.

Russian Vice President Vladimir Medinsky stated, “As a continuation of the Istanbul agreements, we returned 1,000 bodies of Ukrainian soldiers today and received the bodies of 19 of our own. May they all rest in peace in their homeland.”

The Kremlin confirmed that the exchange follows the second round of peace talks held in June in Istanbul. According to Russian state agency TASS, the transfer marks the beginning of a broader process to return 3,000 Ukrainian soldiers’ bodies.
