A tent camp which was set up in Paris by illegal African immigrants near the Constitutional Council and the Louvre Museum was besieged by police.
African immigrants set up dozens of tents in various districts of the capital Paris, after metro closes as their residence and work permit requests were not fulfilled by France.
An immigrant from Mali stated that the only reason they set up a tent in front of the Constitutional Council building was to attract the attention of the Constitutional Council, adding that the main reason the police wanted to remove the tent camp was that it was set up in the area of the Constitutional Council and Louvre Museum.
Police are expected to disperse the tents later in the night.
