Prague University Attack: 15 Killed, 24 Injured

An armed assault at Charles University’s Faculty of Philosophy in Prague, Czech Republic, has claimed the lives of 15 individuals, with 24 reported injured. The attacker, identified as 24-year-old David Kozak, had previously killed his father before initiating the attack on the university premises. Police investigations revealed Kozak’s social media correspondence, indicating his intent to carry out the attack following the domestic incident. Despite evacuation measures, Kozak proceeded to another building to carry out the assault alone before ending his own life. Czech authorities have confirmed that the attack was not linked to terrorism.

Leaders across the European Union, including Ursula von der Leyen, Charles Michel, Olaf Scholz, and Emmanuel Macron, expressed condolences to the victims’ families and solidarity with the Czech people in the wake of this tragic event.
