Protests continue in Sudan after coup

Anti-military citizens took to the streets once more in response to calls for civil disobedience. Protests in Sudan continued on October 26, a day after Sudan’s military attempted a coup and arrested Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok, other senior ministers, and civilian members of the Transitional Sovereignty Council during early morning raids. Seven people were killed and 140 were injured in the country, according to reports.

Diplomats said on Monday they planned to hold a closed-door emergency meeting in Sudan on Tuesday. The meeting will be held at the request of the United Kingdom, Ireland, Norway, the USA, Estonia and France.
