Protesters opposing the delay of the February 25 presidential election in Senegal faced police intervention in Dakar. Demonstrators, expressing their discontent, set tires ablaze and blocked roads, prompting the use of tear gas by law enforcement to disperse the crowd. Presidential Candidate Anta Babacar Ngom was among those detained during the protests, while another candidate, Daouda Ndiaye, claimed to have been subjected to police assault. Former Prime Minister Aminata Toure also reported her arrest upon exiting her vehicle, being taken to a police station in Dakar.
